Leading bus and coach supplier Ventura supported Argos Direct by providing it with a brand new vehicle for its distribution centre in Stafford. The distribution centre has a call centre on site and is the head office for Argos Direct, which is due to be completed later this year.

The vehicle, supplied by Ventura, is a Plaxton Primo and is being used to transport 400 workers daily to and from the support call centre. The vehicle is to be run daily six days a week, and is needed to comply with rigorous health and safety regulations in order to keep employees safe. Since the site, measuring 9.3 hectares, is difficult to drive around for most vehicles whilst construction takes place, it was essential for the company to acquire a vehicle that could sustain the rough environment.

The Primo is ideally suited for this purpose, and its features include:
- Small and easily manoeuvrable for narrow routes – the vehicle has an overall length of less than 8 metres and a wheelbase of just 4.4m.
- Accommodates up to 43 passengers.
- Economical to operate.
- Stainless steel body structure for ultimate longevity.
- 2.4m width for maximum manoeuvrability.
- Maximum low-floor area.
- Fully accessible.

Ventura, which has a vast amount of experience in used and new vehicle sales, was able to provide the Primo tailor-made to suit the Argos’ requirements. To integrate with the client’s corporate branding, it was painted in corresponding colours.
